MLA 2024 Conference

The State Law Library celebrated two milestones recently – the 40th Anniversary of the creation of the Court of Appeals and the 175th Anniversary of the founding of the Minnesota Territory. To mark these occasions, we put together two multimedia exhibits that incorporated existing collections. For the Court of Appeals Anniversary exhibit, we created a physical display, a traveling exhibit for events, a digital exhibit, and video compilations. For the 175th Anniversary exhibit, we created a series of retractable banners that can be loaned out to other institutions, a companion website, and an in-person event. In this session, we will discuss the process we followed and the tools we used to create these multimedia exhibits. We will also share practical tips for any libraries wanting to leverage their collections for outreach to a wider variety of stakeholders.
