In this presentation I will talk about my recent trip on the Lincoln Highway, visiting public libraries along the way. The Lincoln Highway was the first interstate highway in the US, started in 1913, and it stretches from New York City to San Francisco. This gives an opportunity to sample a wide variety of communities. I visited public libraries along this highway, as well as other learning organizations. Learning about the programs and collections of these libraries is the focus of the research project.

This study builds on another one I did several years ago, traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail - visiting every public library along the way. This study is a larger selection of libraries, and should provide more information.
